Henry Anton Edward Duerr

Surrounded by his loving family, Henry passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2022. He was born June 21, 1932 near Humboldt, Saskatchewan on the family homestead to Anton and Elizabeth Duerr.
Predeceased by his parents, his wife Annette in 2021, grandson Harley Duerr and daughter-in-law Sarah; as well as his sisters Nora, Bernadine, Mary, Olive, Anne, and Rita, and his brother Ray.
Survived by his son Rory, daughter Cheryl Dentoom (Ron), his treasured grandchildren Brent (Synneva), Dane (Sarah), and Melissa (Mike), Great grandchildren Jake, Kayla, Ellis and Zoe, and sisters Armella and Margaret.
Henry worked at A.P.D. Sawmill for 40 years. After retirement, Henry and Annette spent time travelling and camping, the highlight being a trip across Canada. He also Spent 20+ years volunteering with Citizens on Patrol and Speedwatch. Until the past few years, he had also been an active member of The Knights of Columbus.
In 2019, he and Annette moved into Abbeyfield House in Port Alberni, where he remained until this past May.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff, volunteers and residents of Abbeyfield for their love and support during the past three years. As well, thank you to Dr. John Meyer and Dr. M. Du Plessis for their care and kindness.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 13th, 11:00am at Holy Family Notre Dame Church
