December 28, 1934 - April 30, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Henry Clement, 89 at home on Tuesday April 30, 2024.

Henry was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Sarah Croteau, father Philippe Clement, wife Alice, son Wade and brothers Renée and Edward.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him as their partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Dad was born on December 28, 1934, in Big River Saskatchewan. Dad came to Port Alberni during the 1950's. to begin his lifelong career in the forest industry. This led him to many different towns and logging camps throughout the island and beyond.

Eventually Dad and his brother Ray, with two highway trucks started their own company called Somass Contracting. He later would haul off-highway logging trucks in various camps before finally driving for Coulson Forest Products until his retirement in 1999. During his retirement he never hesitated to jump back into the driver's seat and drive gravel trucks for L Clement Trucking whenever his son needed him.

Dad always loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He spent many days down the canal at the cabin in Sunshine Bay, countless hours in his garden and always loved a great campfire.

Henry will be deeply missed by his loving partner of 20 years, Aline Lessard, her children and grandchildren. Devoted son Len and wife Crystal, granddaughters Chanelle and Cherish (Levi) brothers Raymond Clement (Minnie), Hubert Croteau, Louie Croteau and Maurice Croteau (Deb). Also, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

"A life well lived and a heart much loved."

The family will be planning a small gathering to celebrate Henry's life at a later date.
