In Loving Memory Jean Anaka ~
Jean Anaka, also known as "Baba", left us in the early morning of Monday, November 2, 2020. She will be greatly missed and our lives will be forever changed.
Jean was born in Insinger, Saskatchewan on July 31, 1928. She met the love of her life William (Bill) Anaka in Canora, Saskatchewan. They wed on November 21, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and in 1956 moved to Port Alberni, B.C. They had five wonderful children together, eleven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Jean enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, sewing, playing and watching baseball/softball and making perogies! Her Ukrainian Christmas dinners will be fondly remembered by all.
She is predeceased by her loving husband William Anaka, her son Lyle Anaka, and grandson Brian Anaka.
She is survived by Nora (Wife of Lyle), Candace (Sven), Jim (Marian), Greg (Karen), Tammy (Rick), grandchildren Cindy (Richard), Connie (Lee), Carla (Sherlan), David (Sarah), Ryan (Amy), Jennifer (Mike), Merissa (George), Stacie (Elliot), Sarah (Sean), Christopher (Karly) and many great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions a small graveside service will take place in early 2021.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jean's memory may do so by making a donation in her name, to the Salvation Army.
We love you Baba, Mom and Jean.
