Jean Cecilia Grant (Nott)

In loving memory ~
Loving Mother Jean Cecilia Grant (formerly Jean Nott) peacefully went home to Jesus on November 22nd, 2021 at age 90.
Jean was pre-deceased by husband Bruce L. Grant, first husband Fred Nott, parents Clarence & Yvette Slang, brother Ernest, & sister Patricia.She is survived by her children Wayne (Roberta), Lyle (Linda), & Susan, & Jean's sister Joyce Taylor & son Lars Taylor (Arlana). Jean has nine grandchildren & three great grandchildren. Jean was born to Clarence & Yvette Slang on June 29th, 1931 in Olds, Alberta. She grew up on her parent's farm & enjoyed all the activities that operating a busy farm provides.
Jean completed studies, became a Teacher, & moved to Port Alberni, B.C. Jean met her husband Fred Nott, & they married in 1954. Jean enjoyed young children & completed education for certification as an Early Childhood Educator. She managed & taught at The Snow White Pre-School & daycare center at the Church of the Nazarene in Port Alberni. In 1986 Jean moved to Abbotsford & became Administrator of The Open Door Children's Daycare Center at The Church of the Nazarene. Jean stayed active in the B.C. Preschool Teachers Association where her contributions were greatly appreciated.
In addition to being a dedicated & loving mother, Jean also loved the outdoors; camping, picnicking, & gardening. Jean took on board roles & volunteered her considerable energy & skills at The Church of the Nazarene & later was an active member at Calvin Presbyterian Church. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Post retirement Jean stayed active managing Central Heights Manor condominium & working with their strata council in Abbotsford. She assisted residents there in many ways taking them to medical & other business appointments. Jean enrolled in a Cake Decorating course 7 used her new skills to much acclaim!
