DOUCETTE, Jean Marie (John) June 12, 1922 – May 5, 2015

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my beloved father who was the most gentle, loving, kind and generous man ever to grace this earth. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.

Predeceased by three wives: Betty, Barbara and Ruth; daughter Tina Marie and granddaughter Chantelle. He is survived by daughter Dawn (Gary), four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three stepchildren, one sister in Saskatchewan and one sister in Port Alberni, as well as several nieces and nephews.

John was born into a French-speaking family of twelve in Bodmin, Saskatchewan. John moved to Port Alberni as a young man and started work on the log booms where he worked for many years. John retired to Ladysmith, married Ruth and spent many hours in his gardens, visiting with friends and gathering with family.

I will always hold you close “cher Papa”.

Love your daughter Dawn.
