In loving memory ~
With great sadness the family mourns the passing of Jeanette Margaret Deederly, 86 years of age on August 24, 2022.
Janet is survived by her children, Marty (Shawn), Sandi (John) and Alan. She leaves behind grandchildren, Nikki, Ryan, Amanda (Ryan), Kurtis (Lauryn), Tana (Aaron), Baillie (Mat), Brook (Mitch) and Mikaela as well as great grandchildren Jadyn, Kaleb, Aria, Rustyn, Rowyn, Rentyn, Talan, Fisher, Hunter and Aidyn.
Her siblings Armella, Lois, Jim & Carol also survive her. Janet was predeceased by her loving husband Harold, her parents John and Pauline Jasken and her brothers Melvin, Sylvester, Arnold & Albert.
She was raised on a farm in Pilger, Saskatchewan with her nine siblings and moved to Port Alberni with her brother & cousin after completing school, obtaining employment at the Plywood Mill. She soon met and married Harold, the love of her life and they ultimately built a home in Cherry Creek in which to raise their family. Janet was passionate about gardening, sewing, cooking, canning, hunting and fishing, processing the bounty of their homestead with Harold.
She loved Bingo and Bowling, playing in a league for many years. Health difficulties slowed her down but Harold kept her busy with outings to the Casino, shopping and lunch dates where you would always spot them walking holding hands.
Janet had a genuine zest for life and boundless love for family and friends, all who knew her were touched by her kindness.
After Harold's passing Janet resided at Fir Park Village. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care given to Janet by all the staff but especially to her granddaughters Brook and Mikaela for keeping an extra watch out for her while on shift at the Village.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
Condolences and memories may be offered to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
