Johannes Den Boer (John) (88 y.o.) of Chilliwack, B.C. (formerly of Port Alberni) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
orn in Zoetemeer, Netherlands. John immigrated to Canada in 1952, eventually settling in Port Alberni. Formally of Den Boer Bros Ready Mix & Contracting, John relocated his family to Chilliwack in 1986.
Predeceased by Baby girl Den Boer (1960), he is survived by his wife of 63 years Hilly, sons: Willem & Dorothy Den Boer (Agassiz), Leonard & Cathy Den Boer (Chilliwack) Andy & Angela Den Boer (Chilliwack) Peter & Fran Den Boer (ON) daughters: Margaret Lehmann (Duncan) and Sonya Den Boer-Fiancé Dale Bracken (Vernon), 23 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren.
We all will miss our dear husband, Dad, and Opa. He was eager to help out with any project we had on the go: home renovations, construction projects or tinkering on vehicles. He was always on site lending us a helping hand.
He had a twinkle in his eye when spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them to use tools in his woodwork shop or taking them on Saturday morning garage sale trips in pursuit of a good deal!
He loved boating and there were many fishing trips when he would demonstrate "how it was done." We all have our own special memories and he will be dearly missed by everyone in our family circle.

A private service was held on April 22, 2021 at RCNA Chilliwack, followed by burial at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
