In loving memory ~
This generous and gentle soul left us on a beautiful fall morning in the loving hands of his soulmate Connie.
Preceded by his parents Bill and Theo Milne, and nephew Jamie Collins. Survived by his wife Connie, stepchildren Jayson Young (Carli) and Leah Jones (Brandon). Grandchildren Austin and Alivia Jones. Sister-in-law Sandra Hulbert, brother-in-law Lance Venne. Brothers, James Milne (Trisha), and Ramsay Milne (Brigida), sisters Kathy Martin (Allan) and Ann Collins (Bob). John was much loved by his nieces and nephews; Jessica Smith, Michael Milne, Tanya Margerm, Curtis Martin, Scott Milne, Peter Milne, Richard Milne, Don Collins, Laura Olsen, all of their families, and by his many cousins.
John spent his childhood on his parent's farm in Errington and his teen years in Tofino. After graduating from Ucluelet Secondary School he attended Malaspina College and worked in a number of Vancouver Island Locations.
He spent several years in Boston Bar and Hope BC and travelled as far afield as Saskatchewan driving off-road ore trucks. Eventually John returned to the Alberni Valley and embarked on a 25-year career as a special needs care giver. Soon after, he fell in love with Connie, which led to their marriage and a life-long love affair.
John is widely remembered for the many comedic roles he played during his long association with the Portal Players Dramatic Society. (Those Christmas pantomimes were priceless!) and for his many years as the "Conductor" on the Pumpkin Patch Hayrides at Arrowvale Farm.
Godspeed John, and thanks for the memories.
