In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful mother Julie Zaplotinsky (nee Stainbrook) on Wednesday, August 30.

Julie was born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Her family made their way to Vancouver Island when she was in her late teens. She enjoyed working as a dispatcher for the RCMP and made some lifelong friendships there.

She quit after she got married to raise her 3 children Bladon, Darryl and Marnel whom she adored. Once her kids got older, she joined the workforce again as a legal secretary. She loved helping people while she ran the legal aid program for the remainder of her working career.

Julie was known as a very kind, thoughtful and compassionate person to everyone she met. She loved crafts, music, and teaching aerobics. She always talked about the great group of friends she had and how much fun they had during their aerobics classes.

Julie is also a breast cancer survivor; her positive attitude absolutely helped her through her diagnosis and treatments during the pandemic. She was an inspiration to all the doctors and nurses who helped take care of her and so many she met through the Nanaimo and Victoria cancer clinics.

Our beloved Mom touched a great deal of people throughout her life. She was an amazing mother and friend to us.

The memories we have of her will be forever cherished and she will be dearly missed...
