Kenneth Newton

February 11, 1923 - January 21, 2014

Ken passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his small loving family. He was a well known long-time resident of Port Alberni.

Ken was predeceased by his wife Annie, he is survived by his daughter, Maureen Lucas, his loving Grandchildren Linda (Kelly) Gardiner-Magnusson, Glenn (Lisa) Lucas & his 8 Great-Grandchildren, Michael, Cody, Bryce & Rikki Gardiner & Jade, Abby, Jamie & Rylan Lucas & his loving niece Chaddy Russell, sister Joan Max & niece Karen Zajak of Alberta.

Ken was born in England & came over to Canada as a small child. He was a very humble WW11 Veteran & Legion Member, after the war he was a hardworking Coalminer in Alberta & enjoyed his many horses throughout his years there. After moving to BC in 1959 he worked at the A.P.D Mill until his retirement.

Ken always enjoyed his family and time spent with his grandchildren, playing games, spending time in the great outdoors camping & just simple horseplay. He enjoyed Square Dancing with his wife Annie for several years, walking was a favorite pastime, he had a love for cars & enjoyed driving & travelling endless miles in his many motor homes. He enjoyed many trips to Reno and always enjoyed some time in the Casino here in town and Nanaimo. He was an avid bowler with many titles under his belt. He enjoyed the bowling alley & spending time with his friends playing his favorite game at Rainbow Alleys & on the road in tournaments.

Ken, aka Sweet Grampa, will always be remembered for his kind, generous, considerate & giving nature. There is no service by request.
