Kenneth Walter FERTUCK

January 17, 2017

Kenneth passed away peacefully in his home in Port Alberni on January 17, 2017 at the age of 75 years.

Predeceased by his 3 sisters Marg, Blanche and Myrte and brother Rod, Ken is survived by his son Ward (Cathy); grandchildren Jesse, Taylor, Jayden and Shayla; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ken was born in Pelly, Saskatchewan, and at the age of 15 Ken and the rest of the family moved to Port Alberni. He started work on the waterfront at an early age and worked there until November 2000 when he answered the phone "PA Terminals" for the last time. Ken was the Terminal Manager for the Port Alberni Harbor Commission for 30 years. Apon his retirement Ken spent time enjoying his penthouse on Cameron Island in Nanaimo and cruising around in his luxury vehicles and browsing through pawnshops. After a suffering a stroke in 2004 he came back to live in Port full time but still did everything for himself except drive. The highlight of his week though was ‘breakfast with the boys’ every Saturday morning and seeing his grandchildren. You will be and already are missed Dad. Love ya Ward.
