Lena passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2016 after a very short illness and after thoroughly enjoying her 103rd birthday on March 17, 2016. Lena was born in Edmonton, AB and move with her children to join her husband John in 1944 when he was stationed in the army camp in Port Alberni. She was a former member of the Ladies of the Royal Purple and the Legion.
Lena was predeceased by her husband John, and her children Jim and Sharon. She is survived by her daughter-law Anne her beloved grandchildren John (Carol) Heather (David) and Robin McDonald, Leon (Camille) and John Hamel. Great grandchildren Isaac, Malika and adopted grandchildren Ashlea and (Beau), Ryan (Bailey) Kaitlyn plus “her precious babies” Murphy, Aaliyah, Faith and Nevaeh.
