Leo Zarahoff passed away in Port Alberni on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the age of 91. Predeceased by first wife Billie and second wife Margaret as well as siblings Viktor, William and Betty. Leo is survived by children Kathy (John), Dennis (Carrie), Richard (Beverly); grandchildren Barb, Samantha, Barry, Billy-Jo, Kyle, Stefan, and Casey; as well as 5 great-grandchildren. It was very apparent to everyone who knew him that golf was Leo’s passion and he became a member of the Alberni Golf Club immediately upon arriving in Port Alberni in 1946. His favourite place was on the course and he proved his skill by winning 7 club championships and scoring 13 Holes-In-One. As well, many a family memory involves Leo and past time of fishing steelhead in some of the local rivers. He was also a certified tradesman who worked at APD for over 40 years and an avid world traveler with experiences from 23 cruises. A Celebration of Leo’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 293, 4680 Victoria Quay, Port Alberni. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leo’s memory may be made to the Alberni Valley Golf Club Junior’s Program, 6449 Cherry Creek Road, Port Alberni, BC, Canada V9Y 8T3
