Leona (Joyce) Barr passed away August 15th at the age of 80 years old in Pitt Meadows, BC. Joyce was born in 1938 in Winnipeg Manitoba. She lived in Flin Flon, Pinawa, Kitimat and the majority of her time in Port Alberni before moving to Pitt Meadows to be closer to her daughters. She was a teacher, stay at home mom and worked part time at Woodward's Bakery. She enjoyed Curling, Golfing and was an avid reader.
Survived by her Daughters, Cindy Pastorek (Terry), Bonnie Barr, Step Daughters, Sherri Hetherington, Susy Hurlbert (Ernie) and Step Son Mark Hetherington (Gilan) and grandchildren, Eric, Lee, Lindsy and Ryan.
Special thanks to Dr. Yu and all the staff at the Oncology Department at Ridge Meadows Hospital, along with all the Staff at McKenney Creek Hospice for the kind and compassionate care during the last weeks of her life.
She will be sadly missed by all the people, family and friends whose lives she touched. She will always live in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the SPCA would be appreciated. She loved and cared for dogs throughout her life.
