After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and wife, Mary Anne Jones on April 6th, 2017 at 7:43 PM surrounded by her loving family.


Mary Anne was predeceased by her parents Pete and Lucille Mueller and her two brothers Melvin and Lorne Mueller. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William Jones and her daughter Caroline (Allen), her two sons Cory (Lora) and Christopher, her grandchildren Curtis, Brianna (Kaleb), Katrina, Wyatt, Tasha, Emma, her great grand-daughter Annastasia, her brother Ron (Delores), her sister Kathy, her nieces Debbie, Darlene, Melanie, Jana, Kailee and Crystal and her many friends .


Mary Anne was born in Saskatchewan to Pete and Lucille Mueller. The Mueller family moved to British Columbia in 1955 and settled in Port Alberni. Mary Anne attended Smith Memorial School and enjoyed playing Volleyball and Baseball. She met the love of her life in 1969 and married her best friend William Jones on October 16th, 1971. William and Mary Anne welcomed 3 children over the next 6 years. Mary Anne worked for the local Dairy Queen for several years before she started her career at West Coast General Hospital where she was well known and liked for her efficiency, kindness and dedication to her job and co- worker's. Mary -Anne worked there 35 years and retired in 2015. Mary Anne was always happiest when she was with her family and friends, she and Bill enjoyed their time being grandparents, taking the children on “holidays” and “field trips”; and she really enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, sewing, knitting, crocheting and warm holidays.


Mary Anne and William were also members of the Alberni Valley Tyee Club for many years, they also volunteered for the Salmon Festival weighing in the fish.


The family would like to invite friends and family to attend to a Celebration of Life for Mary Anne on April 19th, 2017 at 4479 Bruce street between the hours of 2:00 pm -5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ty Watson House in memory of Mary Anne Jones.


The family would like to express our sincere thanks to Ty Watson House, Dr. DePape, the Home Care Nurses and all of our family and friends near and far; for all of your unconditional love and support during these difficult times.
