August 27, 1943 - June 15, 2025
In loving memory ~
Mary (Betty) passed away, with family in attendance on the 15th of June 2025 at Echo Village, after a lengthy illness.
Betty was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan but was brought to B.C. in 1945 when our parents came directly to Port Alberni, as Dad had obtained a job at the Somass Mill. Betty started working at MacMillan Bloedel in the '60s and remained there, through many changes of company names, until her retirement.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Milton, our Mom and Dad Cliff and Kay Turner, our Sister-in-Law Anne Mcintosh, her Brother-in-Law Milton Wiltse and her nephew Ricky Wiltse. She is survived by her siblings Darlene Wiltse and Gordon Turner, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Betty and her husband Milton had the privilege of travelling the world, and did so many times, over many years. She loved it, and had many fond memories of doing so. Betty and Milt didn't have any children of their own, but their nieces and nephews definitely benefited from that.
Many thanks to those caregivers who aided her ability to remain at home for as long as she did and to those at Echo Village who cared for her, and made her as comfortable as possible until her final breath.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of your choice.
For those who wish to attend, there will be a short graveside service on Wednesday July 2nd, 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery.
