December 9, 2018 - March 21, 2019
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful baby girl Prym on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Port Alberni, BC. Prym was born on December 9, 2018 at BC Women's & Children's Hospital to loving parents Heather and Cole. Prym was a fighter even before she was born. We knew Prym would have complex medical needs, but only recently learned about her very rare genetic condition DDX3X. She overcame countless odds both during her month long stay at Children's Hospital and while she was at home with her family.  She was strong and brave and brought an enormous amount of light and love into the lives of her entire family. She was only with us for 3 short months, but left an impact that will forever be cherished and never forgotten.

Survived by parents Heather and Cole Horbatch; siblings Liam, Marika and Maeve; Great Nanny and Grampie Betty and Jack Fitzpatrick of Fredericton, NB; Great Nana and Papa Marlene and Phil Dietrich of Port Alberni, BC; Papa and Nana John and Patricia Fitzpatrick of Port Alberni, BC; Grandpa Peter Horbatch of Port Alberni, BC; Aunties Lori (Richard) Henri, Kelly (Josh) Shannon, Naomi (Ed) Nicholson, Kailee (Gavin) Carr and honorary Auntie Katherine (Jeff) McGill; cousins Parker, Keaton, Lilly, Asher, Annilee, Maddy, Gwyneth, Aubrie and Henry, as well as a large extended family throughout the world.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at BC Children's Hospital, West Coast General Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House for the compassion and care they provided for Prym. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charity https://www.rmhccanada.ca/; the BC Children's Hospital www.bcchildrens.ca/donate; or the West Coast General Hospital Foundation https://www.wcghfoundation.com/.

We warmly invite families and their children to celebrate Prym's life with us on Saturday April 13, 2019 from 1 -3 pm at Cherry Creek Community Center, 3720 Moore Road, Port Alberni, BC.

You are our sunshine, our special sunshine.

You make us happy when skies are grey.

You'll never know, dear, how much we love you.

Please don't take our sunshine away.
