O'Hare, Murray passed away in Cowichan Lodge, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the age of 82.
Predeceased by son James, and 6 siblings. Survived by loving wife Maureen; children Jenny, Hugh (Deb), Tim (Anne) and Pam; step children Craig, Catherine and Will (Beej); 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Born in Ontario, Murray came to BC in the early 80's. He worked in Port Hardy for the North Island Gazette and from there various places throughout BC until finally settling in Port Alberni in 1998.
Murray was a multitalented, giving and gentle soul. Always busy with some projects, he spent many hours in his refuge - his beloved workshop which he built with the help of stepson Craig and neighbour Chris Massop. Murray enjoyed life and celebrated it with his love of music, dancing, cooking and amazing singing voice.
According to Murray's wishes, no formal service will be held. An informal gathering will be held at a later date.
Family wishes to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at Westhaven and Cowichan Lodge for their care and support of Murray and his family. As well the family would also like to extend their thanks to Donald and Joyce Bergen for their help and support.
