September 20, 1942 - February 24, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother and Nana, Nancy Leithead on Monday February 24, 2020, after a long and valiant fight.
She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Mervyl. Nancy is survived by her brother Doug (Gail), sister Gail (Joe) and her children; Wendy (Dave); Curtis (Christie); and Colleen. As well as her beloved grandchildren; Kimberly; Andrew; Hayden; Ethan; and Jesse (Megan).
Nancy graduated from the Misericordia School of Nursing in 1964 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1970 she moved to Vancouver Island and started her nursing career at West Coast General Hospital where she worked for many years before transferring to Echo village until her retirement. (2010) Nancy loved to watch her kids and grandkids sporting events, You could always find Nancy on a ball field or in an arena.
In lieu of flowers, donations can kindly be made in Nancy's name to the Canadian Cancer Foundation at 3088 3rd Ave, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 2A5, or to kidssport BC.
