In loving memory ~

At 87 years old mom got her wish to reunite with dad and passed away peacefully at home with family. Born and raised in Castlegar, B.C. Mom and Dad came to Port Alberni in 1957 to raise their family.

Mom had strong organizational skills, which served her well as an office manager at the AV Times, a board member if the Alberni Athletic Association, president of the Alberni Badminton Club, and a pioneering force involved in the Rob Shick Charity Classic.

She always tried to do the best for all involved.

Mom was a gifted athlete, who played basketball, fast-pitch, golf, and badminton, winning a North American championship in the Masters Division (over 65) ladies' doubles.

Mom and Dad loved their time camping at the property at Horne Lake and other sites on the island and in Washington State. They also cruised the Panama Canal and the Caribbean and always looked forward to their trips to Mexico and Hawaii with lifelong friends Ray and Emma Nicklin.

She was predeceased by parents Paul and Laura Samsonoff, brother Paul Jr., brothers-in-law Harry Kanigan and Bill Keraiff, and grandson Kevin McGunigal.

She is survived by sister Val Samsonoff, sister-in-law Verna Keraiff, daughters Patty, Debby (McGunigal), Elaine, and son Bob. Grandchildren Jared (Kylie), Jordie, Riley, Michael, and Madeline, and great-grandchildren Avery, Peri, and Logan.

In lieu of flowers, it was Mom's request that a small donation be made to the Youth Sports Association of your choice.

Rest in peace Mom, you are with Dad again.

No service by request.
