Peggy Atkinson (Margaret Ann White) passed away peacefully at Tsawaayuus (Rainbow Gardens) in Port Alberni on April 1st.
Peggy was born and raised in Victoria. She met and married Donald Atkinson (predeceased) and then moved to Port Alberni where she and Don raised their family.
She is survived by her children Maureen (Peter Lenihan), Heather (Rick Kitsul), Doug (Marlene) Atkinson, and Wendy (Brian Aird). Peggy (Nana) had nine grandchildren: Megan, Shea, Declan, Lane, Leah, Cole, Karl, Sydney, and Jackson, all of whom she was very proud of.
Peggy graduated from Victoria College in 1957 and was a lifetime member of the New Democratic Party. She loved creating whether it was knitting or weaving and was always ready for a good discussion. Peggy worked as a lab technician for many years in Port Alberni.
Many thanks to the staff of Tsawaayuus (Rainbow Gardens) for making the last year as comfortable as possible for Peggy.
