November 1, 1924 - November 28, 2021
On Sunday. Nov 28th, Phyllis Taylor, our lovely mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 97 years. We as a family will miss her very much, but we are happy that she is in Heaven with the Lord Jesus, and her husband George and son Ray.
Mom was born on Nov. 1st 1924 to Hazel and Robert Moase of Kensington P.E.I. At the young age of 18 Mom married our dad George Taylor. Together they worked on their farm in Traveller's Rest P.E.I. and raised a family of 7 kids. Mom worked really hard helping with the farm work, making bread, feeding her hungry family, gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and so on. She also managed to get the family out to church twice on Sundays! Later on, she also got a job at the Prince County Hospital working as a receptionist and switchboard operator.
When Mom and Dad"retired"they moved with their 3 youngest daughters to Victoria B.C. There they met many new friends and enjoyed the warmer weather. Together they worked as apartment managers, and mom worked as a seamstress and care aid for a while. Later, they got to enjoy travelling to warmer climates in the winter and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Mom was an incredibly strong person and although her life was not always easy, her faith in a loving God lightened her load. Along with her Christian faith Mom's love and loyalty for her family was amazingly strong and we all benefitted from it.
Mom was predeceased by her father Robert Moase, her mother Hazel Moase , her sister Gladys Thompson, her son Ray Taylor, her husband George Taylor, her son-in-law Victor Iwaniuk, and her great granddaughter Cordelia Lloyd.
She leaves behind on this earth her eldest son Robert Taylor and wife Nancy of Traveller's Rest, P.E.I.; her daughter Sandra Iwaniuk of Port Alberni, B.C.; her son Brian Taylor and wife Lou of Milton Station, P.E.I.; her daughter Lois Moyle and husband Trevor of Nanaimo, B.C.; her daughter Joy Lloyd and husband Phil of Port Alberni, B.C.; and daughter Cheryl Anderson and husband Neil of Port Alberni, B.C. She also leaves behind her 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She loved them all very much!
As a family we would like to thank the lovely staff at Echo Village for taking good care of Mom and treating her with dignity and respect in her last days. Thanks also to Dr. Nell for his gentle and caring way with Mom. Finally we want to say "we love you mom/gramma and we'll see you again one day!"
