Raymond Gerard Duquette

Raymond Gerard Duquette passed away on Sept. 16, 2016 at Stanford Seniors Village, Parksville, BC where he had been a resident for the past nine months. He was 82 years old.

Raymond was born of Feb 13, 1934 in Spiritwood, Sask. and later moved with this family to Debden, Sask. He relocated to Port Alberni, BC in 1955 where he worked in the Pulp Mill until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed many years of bowling, curling, long walks, spending many hours in his workshop as well as camping with his family in the summers. He was a life-time member of Knights of Columbus and a member of the Port Alberni Folk Fest Society.

He was predeceased by his parents Odias and Melina Duquette, brothers Andre, Leopold, Gilles and his wife Linda, sister Fernande, nieces Meri-Ann and Robyn and four infant brothers. He is survived by Diane, his beloved wife of 42 years; his son David (Dustin); brothers Aime (Evonne), Louis (Henriette), Adolphe (Loretta), sisters Cecile and Gertrude, sister-in-law Anne, as well as several nieces, nephews, friends, and his little dog Pepe.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chapel of Memories, Port Alberni, BC. A Celebration of Raymond’s life will take place on September 30, 2016 at 1:00pm at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni, BC. Interment of his cremated remains in St. Peter’s Cemetery will follow the service.
