Peacefully, in his 87th year, Robert Scoffield passed away in West Coast General Hospital on November 16, 2022.
Born in Vancouver on July 21, 1935, to Arthur and Mildred Scoffield, Robert and his family moved to Port Alberni in 1941. He graduated from ADHS, where he excelled in athletics and also played violin in the school orchestra.
After graduating from, UBC Law School Robert (also known as Bob) articled in Vancouver. In Port Alberni he first took over the practice of Armour Ford, and later partnered with George Badovinic. The firm later became known as Badovinic, Scoffield and Mosley, with custom built premises on lower Third Avenue.
In retirement, Robert and Norma lived in Schooner Cove and then in Origins in Nanaimo. Recently they moved back to Port Alberni as residents of Fir Park Village.
Robert is survived by Norma, his loving wife of 59 years, his daughters Kirsten, Catherine (Steven) and Nicole, plus three grandchildren, James, Kaleigh, Theodore and sister-in-law Margaret Scoffield. He was predeceased by his brother Gordon and sister Heather.
Robert will be remembered for his loyalty and integrity. He was a member of Rotary and actively supported a number of community groups with pro bono and other forms of assistance.
No flowers by request. Donations to: Parkinson Society British Columbia or Fir Park Village.
No service and cremation has taken place.
