Robert "Bob" Harold Hunter completed the final leg of his journey, home into everlasting life, on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at the age of 89.
He is survived by his sister, Catherine Olson (Carl); children, Karen Bingham (Bill), Barb McKenzie (Peter), and Ken Hunter (Carol); grandchildren, Matthew (Caitlin), Laura (Curtis), Janine (Dustin), Michelle (Jim), Danielle (Garrett), David (Delaney), Joshua, Nathan, Jenica, Chelsea, Sarah, and Rebecca; fourteen great- grandchildren; and his friend and loving companion, Elsie.
He is predeceased by his wife, Patsyjane (1979); brother, Bill (1945); sister, Margaret (2017); and grandson, Michael (2000).
Bob was born March 11, 1929 in Vancouver, BC to Harold and Elizabeth Hunter and came to Port Alberni when he was two years old. Bob worked for Macmillan Bloedel for 44 years, was a missionary with Youth with a Mission (YWAM), and was involved with a number of musical groups such the Tidesmen and Troubadours.
Bob was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed for his commitment to his family, sense of humour, kind gentle nature, and strong faith in Christ.
His family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Fir Park Village for the care, compassion and respect they showed him for the past five years.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Jericho Road Church on Saturday, June 2nd at 2 pm.
