Swede passed away peacefully at Rainbow Gardens at the age of 75.
Predeceased by his parents John and Edith Oberg and brother Tom Oberg (mary). He is survived by son Todd Oberg (Sheri), daughter Jodi Rusel; grandchildren Ryan Oberg, Kristen Oberg (Brian) and Morgan Foster; great grandchildren Maddison and MaKenzie Mercredi. Also survived by brothers Bob Oberg (Diane), Dale Oberg (Heather), sister Darlene and neices and nephews.
Swede was born in Vancouver and moved to Great Central Lake with his family at a young age. He started working at age 15 in the forest industry on the rigging. Ron then decided he wanted to be a truck driver. He worked for companies including Dolans, McKay trucking, Beban logging and retiring from Hayes at age 62. Upon retirement, Swede enjoyed spending time with family, especially at the rink watching his grandson Ryan play hockey.
