November 19, 1924 - November 16, 2020
On the 16th of November 2020, just 3 days shy of her 96th birthday, we lost a very dear, caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Rosemary Olive Randles.
She leaves behind her sons, Bill (Jiskje) and Wayne; grandchildren, Gerald (Rebecca) Randles, Vicki (Shon) Fader and Julie (Jim) Harper and Lexi Harper; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Randles, Michael Fenn, Sydney Fenn and Ethan Randles, also Judy Randles and Denis Contreras.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wm D Randles and son, Gary.
Rosemary also leaves behind her cherished friends, her good neighbours Mike and Nadine Streeter, Pastor Per and Chris Knudson and her Church Family. Her faith was a very important part of her life.
Mom was born on the 19th of November 1924, in Dubuque, Iowa, to John and Olive Parkins. She and her family moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she grew up. Eventually, she met her husband to be, William D Randles in Croton, Ontario and married, her one true love, in Detroit. Three sons were born to them.
Over the years, the family experienced life in Ontario, California, and Parksville, BC. Later on, the two moved to Logan Lake, BC, where Dad worked at Highland Valley Copper Mines and were one of the first ones to live there until Dad passed away in 1987. Finally, Mom moved to Port Alberni to be close to her loved ones.
She loved fishing, boating, travelling, playing Scrabble and card games with family and friends, persevered with the computer, loved to zoom around town in her little red car until she gave up driving for good and loved to have everyone over for family get-togethers. Those were the days.
What we have learned from her is to have a sense of humour, which will take us far in life; always have patience, and one is never to old to learn new things, but above all else it was her unconditional love for us all.
The family would like to thank West Coast General Hospital - Dr. D. Williams, Dr. A. Wijayanayagam, and their staff for the care and compassion given to Rosemary.
