It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Shirley. Shirley was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, & friend. Anyone who knew Shirley loved her for her spit fire personality and big heart. It gives us comfort knowing she will be reunited with her parents, Betty and Earl; her sister, Maureen, and her best friend, Auriel.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Tom of 52 years; two sons, Shawn (Sandra) and Troy (Daphne); grandchildren, Morgan (Kurtis), Trystin and Tiana; siblings, Kathy (Gene), Valerie, and Allen; and her fur baby, Mocha the cat. Shirley was also a great grandmother to Emily.
Shirley took so much pride in her career at The Royal Bank for over 30 years and although she had an early retirement that didn't stop her from continuing her passions of cooking, cross stitching, and puzzles! Shirley also had a love for fishing with her husband Tom and even won some prizes in local derby's. Shirley absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren and always put them first.
Shirley loved all of her family and friends. Her daughters in law Jen & Lori and son in law Ian were very important to her as well as her best friend Anna who was very special to Shirley and shared her love of ice cream.
There will be no service held for Shirley. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation on her behalf to the Port Alberni SPCA as she absolutely loved animals.
