1936 - 2016 • It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Terence Winder passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 3, 2016. He was aged 79 years.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Carole Walton Winder, son Mark and step-sons, Dave and Cliff Evans, James, Kirk and Ted Walton.
Born and raised in Great Britain, Terry emigrated to Canada in 1966 where he worked in the advertising industry, earned two Masters Degrees (MBA, SFU and MFA, Syracuse). Terry was an educator and an artist and distinguished himself becoming a master instructor in Marketing and Advertising during his tenure at BCIT. Terry was an athlete all his life, and active in many sports. Perhaps most notably, he ran two marathons - both after the age of 50. Terry also loved the theater and acted in a number of plays and musicals in many venues from Vancouver to Nanaimo to Langley. Terry’s sense of humor and loving nature warmed the hearts of all he met. He will be missed.
A celebration of Terry’s life will take place at the Ranch, 6999 Swanson Rd West, Port Alberni on Saturday, June 25, 2016 between 2 and 5 pm.
