Not realizing how big Canada was, she boarded a train and began the long journey. It was on the Uchuck on her way to Sarita that she met Jake. The couple was married 5 months later. They stayed in Sarita for 4 years, then moved to Steede Ave in Port Alberni where Teresa's sisters, Betty and Nancy and their spouses lived in houses side by side.
