October 15, 1942 - August 25, 2022
In loving memory ~
On Thursday August 25th, 2022, we said good-bye to our beloved father Terry. It was just nine months ago that we said good-bye to our mom Tish, his wife of 56 years.
Born to Arleigh and Margaret Banks in Harmony Nova Scotia in 1942, Terry headed out West in 1964, meeting Tish along the way. With an Aunt and Uncle in Port Alberni, and the prospect of good paying jobs, they came to Vancouver Island and never moved from The Valley.
Predeceded in death by his wife Tish in November of 2021, his parents Arleigh and Margaret Banks, his brother Edwin Banks, his sisters Janet Keddy and Rosalie Banks, brother-in-law Frank Bruce, sister-in-law Joyce Banks, his nephew David Cadieux, and niece Janice Bartlett.
Terry is survived by his four sons, Dwaine Clarke (Veronica), Cameron (Jasmine), Colin (Aliza), and Alan (Sybil), and his 12 grand children, Tyler (Kaitlyn), Tiana (Kevin), Christopher, Julia, Trevor (Paige), Garret, Joel (Kaylee), Carina (Cory), Hanna, Nathan, Brendan, and Ryan (Ashle). Terry is also survived by his sister Madeline Cadieux (Gerry), his brother Murray, and brother-in-laws Ted Keddy and Manning Banks as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins across Canada.
Terry was a loving husband, a great dad, and a wonderful grampee and papa to his grand kids. Terry was firm and strong as a father when it was needed, and loved and supported us in all our endevours and projects at the same time. He was always there with his tools and expertise and tried to pass along his knowledge to us when he could. Terry loved his grandchildren and had endless time and patience for them.
Terry and Tish spent their retirement fishing and pulling their travel trailer around Western Canada. He spent 34 years at the papermill and kept in touch with many of his work pals right up until the end.
We are forever grateful for his friends that continued to visit and call on him, the Doctors, nurses, hospital staff, home support, and Westhaven for all their attentiveness, love, patience, and understanding. He was well looked after.
