The family of Tine van Dijk are sorry to announce the passing of their mother on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born in Drachten, the Netherlands on May 27th, 1933. She married her forever partner, Andy, on April 9th, 1953. Tine and Andy moved to Canada in June of 1955 with their one-year-old daughter Tjipkje (Tracy) and lived in Merville, just outside of Courtenay.
In 1964 Tine and her family moved to Port Alberni where Andy worked at the Somass Mill. Tine was an amazing mother, she stayed home and looked after their five children and her garden.
Tine was predeceased by her husband Andy, also her parents and brother in Drachten.
She is survived by daughters Tracy (Don 'Duck') Paterson, Jenny (Lee) Beggs, Dina (Dale) Lesire and sons Harold (Teresa) van Dijk and Henry (Tana) van Dijk. Tine is also survived by numerous grand children, great grand children and great-great grand children also nieces and nephews in the Netherlands.
Tine's family would dearly like to thank the staff at West Coast General Hospital along with the home care providers and her many friends for their care, love and companionship. There will be no service by request.
Tine is now with Andy and they're
fishing to their hearts content.
