“I’ve finished life’s chores,
Assigned to me...
So put me near a river
Headed out to sea,
Please send along a fishing pole...
For I’ve been invited
To the fishin’ hole
Where every day
Is a day to fish,
To fill your heart
With every wish.
Don’t worry, or feel sad for me,
I’m fishin’ with the
Master of the Sea”
Wally died at home, October 19 surrounded by his daughters.
He is also survived by his son, Graham. Born on a “dirt”
farm near Wheatstone, Saskatchewan, Wally grew to be an enterprising man: trapper, hunter, fisherman, bootlegger, cook, miner, papermaker and garage saler. He instilled a love of fishing in his children and the enjoyment of a good fishin’ story. Husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, and brother he too will be missed.
