Willem (Bill) Mallon passed away suddenly on February 14th. He was predeceased by his parents Cornelis and Jacoba Mallon and brother-in-law Hans Vandam. He is survived by his loving wife Marian, his beloved daughters Amy (Colton) and Becky (Cody) and the light of his life his grandchildren Landon and Savannah. Also by his sisters Henny VanDam and Cosa (John) Newton and brother Cory (Karen) and Aunts, Uncle and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Bill was born in Hilversum, Holland and was the third of four children. At the age of 1 the family moved to Port Alberni.

Bill graduated from ADSS in 1967 and while at school worked for Woodward’s in the grocery department. He then went to work in the Plywood mill until it closed, then to the APD Mill and he retired from the Somass Mill.

Bill and Marian were wed in 1975 and they had two girls, Amy and Becky.

Bill loved the outdoors, going fishing, and playing pool. He also loved to listen to music and playing it on guitar.

When the girls moved to Alberta he made sure to go there every summer for more than a month, especially to spend time with his grandchildren.

Bill was a true family man and was always there when someone needed him.

Cremation has taken place; the celebration of Bill’s life will be on Saturday February 25th at 2pm at the First Baptist Church on Cherry Creek Rd.
