A LOOK BACK: The building of the E&N Train Station in Port Alberni

The Alberni Valley News looks back at the region's history with the Alberni Valley Museum

A construction crew pauses for a photo as they prepare the site for the new Equimalt & Nanaimo (E&N) train station at the bottom of Argyle Street in 1911.

The train station has served the "Twin Cities" of Port Alberni and Alberni for more than 100 years. The building itself is considered a heritage building, and sometime this summer will house "The Station" pub — the second location for Twin City Brewing.
