Canoe no-show at Harbour Quay disappointing

Man waited at Alberni's Harbour Quay for canoes which never came.

To the Editor,

I am disappointed. Last week in the newspaper it said that the Pulling Together bunch of canoes with 300 people in them was supposed to arrive in Port Alberni at Harbour Quay between 11 a.m. and noon on July 8.

Well, I was excited to see them. I was there from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and no canoes came. Other people were there waiting too.

What happened? Why didn’t they show up?
