City councillors in conflict

City councillors took care of themselves and now it’s time for taxpayers to boycott places owned by any business owner who is a councillor

To the Editor,

Any city councillor who is a business owner and voted for this preposterous 13 per cent increase in private property taxes but froze business property taxes are in a conflict of interest.

Fixed income pensions received less than a two per cent cost of living increase for 2013.

Many forest industry retired workers don’t even get a cost of living allowance.

The cost of food is going up four to five per cent. BC Health care has been increased.

City councillors took care of themselves and now it’s time for taxpayers to boycott places owned by any business owner who represents city council.

Send a strong message that this increase isn’t acceptable.
