Facebook commenting change no guarantee

Switching to Facebook commenting doesn't guarantee anything, one reader said.

Re: AV News to switch to Facebook commenting.

I agree with Heather’s comment on the AVNews webpage (see first item, Speak Up). Facebook is no guarantee of a “real name” and cuts off those of us who don’t use Facebook for identification.

Please rethink this policy. Signing  letters with name, address and phone number would be more effective, and all info other than name could be held private by the paper—such as you are doing here (letters to the editor page).
