Good luck and good try

Thanks to the old and congratulations to the new, says Alberni resident.

To the Editor,

Thanks to the outgoing city councillors for their years of dedicated service and congratulations to elected candidates.

Being watchdog over taxpayers’ money is a tough job that someone has to do.

Mike Ruttan seemed to be a hit with any ladies that I talked to. Eloquence is a plus in politics and good looks don’t hurt either.

Candidates are the best of the city’s best and the voting majority have spoken.

Thanks to all for participating in electoral process and good luck to those that tried and didn’t get in. Past alderman George McKnight has a street named in his honour.

He ran many times before winning a council seat and topped the polls thereafter and is still topping labour’s toll in the hereafter.

R. Frankow,

Port Alberni
