To the Editor,
Considering that we, in Port Alberni, are a city in classification, and further considering that for every city there needs to be a framework of rules and regulations to follow so that no one is inconvenienced by inconsiderate resident neighbours, why would those hired to ensure these rules are followed ignore infractions?
What possible benefit are bylaw officers to our city if they close their eyes to infractions? As an example of bylaw officers’ neglect, there has been a camping trailer parked on my street for about four months.
What possible value is having regulations on our books if the bylaw officers decide they don’t deserve to be policed?
I suggest city council edit all bylaws and eliminate all those they don’t want enforced, and instruct the bylaw officers accordingly.
