First I’d like to thank all the volunteers and town who put this event together. I’d also like to thank Susie Quinn for the great article.
And last but not least, all the riders who come with so much enthusiasm.
Why am I writing this message? Because, with this great event comes a hefty price.
This year, my husband and I alone will drop a good $1,200 into the community for hotel, food, gas, not including the amount we donated to the cause. The biggest highway robbery is the amount the hotels charge, only because of this event. They increase their price per night, just on this weekend alone, making a few of us rethink our appreciation, and our continued support.
I am not the only one feeling this but may be the only one strong enough to voice it, in the hopes that the community bands together to make this once again, about the children.
