Look after your neighbours

Check in on your elderly neighbours in Alberni, one reader says.

To the Editor,

Re: Home invasions in Port Alberni.

I would like to take this time to suggest to people that they maybe go over to their elderly neighbours they personally know,or their grandparents or elderly friends and remind them and possibly go over some safety procedures with them.

Check their locks and windows and doors and make sure their homes are secure. At times they can forget about an unlocked door or window, or may need a Post-it note up someplace obvious to remind them to lock the door behind themselves.

Keep all doors and windows closed and locked even when home in the daytime.
