Perfect storm for occupiers

Leaders say one thing and do another, reader notes.

To the Editor,

Politicians, labour leaders, NDP opportunists, although generally sympathetic to the Occupy movement, at first, now have changed their mind.

Sure, they will find a spin that addresses that 180-degree turn, however their delay was likely less about supporting democracy as it was waiting to see which way the wind was going to blow.

Each of these groups are being tested in this sort of perfect storm of dysfunction and contradiction of their principles.

City leaders should be bracing for the backlash, as many people see the hypocrisy in their actions—saying one thing, then doing another.
