Reader calls out letter writer

One reader questions a letter writer whether in fact 50 per cent of aboriginal kids who attended residential in fact never made it home.

To the Editor,

Re: Schooled about boarding school, Letters, Aug. 23.

I have a question for Liz Stonard of Port Alberni regarding her statement “as many as 50 per cent of Canadian Indian residential school children never even made it home from school. They died away from their home and family.”

Is this a fact or your personal opinion?
