Reader tired of silly B.C. road laws

What's up with B.C.'s car tire laws, one reader asks.

To the Editor,

Meeting regulations cooked up in Victoria can be difficult to understand and costly to follow. I had the misfortune to run up against one of the government’s oddball laws the other day.

I had two good snow tires already and visited four tire shops hoping to buy two more. Same story at all four tire shops: “It’s against the law to sell two snow tires, you’ll have to buy four.”

The end result: I purchased four new snowtires for $504 and now have two snow tires in storage. I wonder if I can sell them in Alberta?
