Students from AW Neill Middle School in Port Alberni mingled with toga-clad teachers as they competed in the annual Greek Games, June 17, 2011.

The morning kicked off with a parade of flags from each of the Greek ‘cities’ the students had been divided into, then officially opened with the tongue twister event.

Events such as shooting water at a target and swimming noodle javelin, to Frisbee discus and traditional running matches were run outside, while inside students had the opportunity to make Greek hummus and salad.

The school runs the fun games at the end of each school year, teacher Erin Anker said.
