Club championship up in Alberni

The Charity Golf Classic in Alberni last weekend was a huge success.

When all was said and done 135 golfers and non-golfers hit the links for a great day of fun. That total surpasses last year’s registrations of 105.

It will be a couple of months before the committee know the exact amount raised for the charities.

In Men’s Club action, approximately 40 men qualified for the club championship. Be sure to look in the clubhouse for the flight you are in, and also the matchups. They should be posted  no later than Thursday, July 14.

In the ball sweep Jacques Giovetti had the best of the day, shooting gross 76 and taking home three balls for his effort.

Jim Rhodes came in with 77, winning two balls.

On the net side of things, Darrell Van Os shot 62 to claim three balls and Cal Davie shot 67, winning two balls.
