The Van Isle Ford Midget Bulldogs took a firm grip on the North Island divisional playoffs with a 2–1 upset win over Oceanside in Parksville on Sunday.
“The deck was stacked against us coming in, but the boys showed what they can do,” coach Brent Demerais said.
The Bulldogs have one more game in the North Island series, Saturday, Feb. 12 in Campbell River at 6:15 p.m. A win will clinch first place for the North Island and home ice against a South Island team in the semi-final.
