Jump Jam makes successful return to Williamson Park in Port Alberni

Annual Send Air event had 70 riders registered

The City of Port Alberni's third annual Jump Jam was a success, with nearly twice as many riders registered as last year.

In collaboration with Send Air, an indoor bike park based in Nanoose Bay, the city installed three different sized airbags at Williamson Park on Sunday, Sept. 15. Bike riders took turns jumping, while a speedometer provided by the city's Community Policing program recorded their top speeds.

Along with the airbags, the event included games, activities, arts and crafts and food. There were a total of 70 riders registered and around 180 guests who stopped by throughout the day.
