Mace undefeated in ladies hoops league

The ladies basketball season continued April 18 at Alberni District Secondary School with two undefeated teams playing—Mace Electric and Lace It Up—and two yet-to-win teams—Dave Ralla’s Ballerz and Canadian Tire.

In the battle of the two top teams, the score was close throughout the first half, but Mace Electric took over in the second half, defeating Lace It Up 45-33.

Paige Hansen had 18 points for the Shockers.

The second game saw two teams both looking for their first win. Again, the game was tight throughout the first half, but the Ballerz pulled away and defeated Canadian Tire 32-25.

Sarah McColl had 10 points for Dave Ralla’s Ballerz. Jami Oliver led the Canadian Tire Retreads with 13 points.

With the regular season halfway through, the standings are: Mace Electric (3-0), Lace It Up (2-1), Dave Ralla’s Ballerz (1-2), and Canadian Tire (0-3).
